Hello, I am an environmental scientist at the Rodale Institute. My research is focused on biogeochemistry, soil health, and microbial ecology under climate change and land use. I work with colleagues and collaborators around the world to identify and promote the management strategies that can improve the sustainability and resilience of our environment.
I lead several USDA funded research projects on "cover crop-based organic no-till", "microbial contribution to building soil carbon" and "diversifying organic inputs to support soil health" , and support all soil health related education and outreach at Rodale Institute.
I also serve as the Chair of the Soil Health Advisory Council of the Regenerative Organic Alliance, a non-profit organization that strives to promote regenerative organic agriculture around the world.
Having lived and worked in 3 different continents, now I live in Allentown, Pennsylvania with my wife Sophia and our two sons: 7 year old Tristan and 3.5 year old Winston. During my spare time, I enjoy hiking with my family in the Appalachians, running, and playing chess and basketball with my boys.
